July Update

My sincere apologies for not posting earlier this month. July is always an extra busy time of year for those of us in the wedding industry.

So what have we been up to? The opportunity came up to photograph a wedding and photo shoot on the lovely island of Mauritius. The lure of the Indian Ocean was more than enough to tempt me away from my busy schedule.

Mauritius is a lovely country, the people are so welcoming - I’d have to say they are the friendliest and most accommodating I have known. The wedding took place at Legends Hotel on the north coast, followed by a photo shoot the next day on the hotels own private Island. I am often asked ‘how do I price such an assignment’ this is always difficult and it’s something I usually only entertain if I have a two week window in my dairy. For an event this far away from home I would normally combine with a short holiday, partly (or wholly) funded by the booking.

On the admin side, bookings continue to flow and dates for next year are definitely being filled earlier than normal. The first orders of the new coffee table albums are now coming through from the suppliers and as expected they are really superb! The smaller 8x8 inch versions are great as gifts to either parents or your bridesmaids. These are identical to the larger original with the same 60 images included. These are available from just £199 for 2 copies. Finally, the minimum order quantity for Thank you cards has been reduced to just 30 with a new ultra matt finish also available at no extra cost. These cards have a sophisticated modern look with a softer feel, and are the perfect solution for the client who requires a more elegant and stylish finish.
